Financial Stability

In Wabash County, and communities around the world, individuals and families are facing financial obstacles such as chronic unemployment, financial instability and homelessness. We are working to remove these hurdles that prevent a good quality of life for our citizens.
How? The programs we support are fighting to put every person on a path toward financial empowerment.
Housing
-
Advantage Housing provides counseling, short term solutions for emergency housing, and strategies for permanent housing for the homeless population in Wabash County.
-
HAWC - Provides a collaborative effort to discover and address housing barriers for low income residents of Wabash County.
Free Tax Prep
-
Pathfinder Services coordinates training and scheduling through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for volunteers to assist low income tax filers.
Additional Support
-
ARC of Wabash County provides work and work-related skills to individuals with developmental disabilities through subcontract projects for area businesses and industries. Programs also provide 24/7 guidance and supervision for adults with disabilities, ensuring their safety and teaching them life skills (cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc). Many are living on their own for the first time.
-
Lighthouse Mission - Is known in our community as a resource for those less fortunate as a very low priced thrift store that runs on donations from our community. The heart of the ministry is in the assistance they provide for the homeless and families in need around this area. Almost daily they are able to provide a family with free clothes, household goods, and necessities. Twice a year Holiday food baskets are handed out to over 500 families.
